HDR Board of Directors

HDR's officers and board of directors are committed to quality, professionalism and integrity.

Most of HDR's executive officers have been with the company for more than a decade, providing a stable leadership core that guides the company's long-term strategy and daily operations.

Mary PetersMary Peters is the former United States Secretary of Transportation, serving from 2006 to 2009. She also served as administrator of the Federal Highway Administration and as director of the Arizona Department of Transportation. A respected national expert on transportation policy and public-private partnerships, Ms. Peters holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Phoenix and attended Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government Program for State and Local Government Executives.

Ronald L. Harris is former vice chairman of MDS Harris, Lincoln, Neb. He was previously president and chief executive officer of Harris Laboratories, Inc. and president of Harris Technology Group, Inc. He is a member of the World President's Organization, Nebraska State Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the American Management Association. Harris has a bachelor's degree in business and chemistry and an MBA from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Frank Hilsabeck is former executive vice president of ALLTEL Communications, Inc. He completed undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Nebraska and serves on numerous professional/association boards, including Bryan/LGH Medical Center, Downtown Lincoln Association, Lincoln Chamber of Commerce, Lincoln Partnership for Economic
Development, Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital, US Bank Advisory Board and Mayor/Chancellor's Technology Park Committee (Lincoln). Mr. Hilsabeck serves as a trustee for Doane College and the University of Nebraska Foundation.

Terence C. Cox has served as Chief Financial Officer of HDR Inc. since 1997. Prior to 1997 he served as Controller of HDR Inc. and HDR Engineering Inc. and has been with the Company since 1984. His current responsibilities include the management of the overall financial operations of the Company, internal and external financial reporting, MIS development, acquisitions, banking relationships, and income tax compliance. Mr. Cox is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a B.A. in accounting from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.

John K. Wilson is past president of Durham Resources, LLC which was a private investment company located in Omaha, Neb. Mr. Wilson's career spanned more than 25 years with Durham Resources during which time the company engaged in numerous business acquisitions, divestitures and financings related to the natural gas distribution industry, commercial and residential real estate development, community banking and various securities within the public markets. Mr. Wilson currently serves on the board of MDU Resources Group, Inc. a publicly traded company which provides value-added natural resource products and related services essential to the energy and transportation infrastructure within the United States. Mr. Wilson is a certified public accountant and holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska-Omaha.

Merle S. Bachman, president of HDR Architecture, has been with HDR since 1974. Bachman was previously based in three of HDR’s major architectural design centers working in the management and design of federal, science, civic and healthcare projects. Originally from Rulo, Neb., Bachman graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1971 with a bachelor of architecture degree.

Richard R. Bell, chairman and chief executive officer of HDR, Inc., has been employed by the company since 1974. Bell's professional experience includes engineering design, project planning, management coordination and client liaison. He received M.S. and B.S. degrees in engineering from South Dakota State University and is a registered professional engineer.

George A. Little, vice chairman, has been president of HDR Engineering, Inc. since 1998. He joined HDR in 1989 and prior to his appointment to president, he was chief operations officer and executive vice president. He was responsible for developing the company's formal quality assurance and quality control programs. He has extensive experience in project management and engineering design for large power and energy projects. Mr. Little has a B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
