(OMAHA, Neb. - August 3, 2006) - HDR, a leading architecture-engineering-consulting firm, has acquired Nakata Planning Group, LLC, based in Colorado Springs, Colo. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Going forward, Nakata Planning Group will conduct business as HDR|Nakata Planning Group. Nakata Planning Group specializes in facilities and master planning for military, commercial and industrial clients worldwide. The company employs 28 people.
"Nakata Planning Group has gained well-deserved international recognition for their ability to help military and commercial clients fulfill their mission, no matter what circumstances arise," said George Little, HDR Engineering, Inc. president. "For example, they recently assisted the Louisiana Army National Guard with urgent reconstruction planning in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Their considerable talents are a great addition to our federal services team."
Under the new corporate structure, Nakata Planning Group principal Charles J. Doll Jr., AICP, will be a senior vice president and principal Robert L. Preston, AICP, will be a vice president.
