HDR Part of Team to Present Secure Border Initiative Program

(OMAHA, Neb. - September 5, 2006) - Lockheed Martin announced the team that will present the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) with a Secure Border Initiative (SBInet) solution. The SBInet program is a comprehensive multi-year plan to secure America’s 6,000 miles of borders by bringing together a balanced mix of people, processes, technology and infrastructure to gain full operational control of the country's borders. The solution was shaped by the eight companies, including HDR, each chosen for specific expertise in areas relevant to homeland and border security.

HDR's role on the SBInet Team includes site planning, facility planning and design, infrastructure design, environmental analysis and management of facilities and infrastructure project(s). HDR has significant experience in supporting Homeland Security requirements, having designed several Border Patrol Stations and Sector Headquarters on both the northern and southern borders. HDR has managed sector Project Delivery Teams (PDT) for tactical infrastructures at sectors on the southwest border and developed design standards for most border patrol facilities. HDR also designed the Border Patrol Station and Port of Entry Training Facility for the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, Georgia.

"Our team is composed of companies that are actively participating in cornerstone programs for DHS, protecting America's ports of entry in the air, on the water, and on the ground," said Jay Dragone, vice president, Homeland Security Programs for Lockheed Martin. "Collectively, we offer a wealth of experience in border control and security, infrastructure and integrated communications - with a strong history of successful performance on critical national programs."

In addition to Lockheed Martin and HDR, partner companies include Accenture, Advanced Technology Systems (ATS), Harris Corporation, High Performance Technologies Inc. (HPTi), Parsons Corporation, Science Applications International Corporation and Sandler & Travis TradeAdvisory Services (STTAS).
