Bridgepoint Active Healthcare Wins Ontario Association of Architects Design Excellence Award

(March 24, 2014) - Bridgepoint Active Healthcare in Toronto was awarded a Design Excellence Award by the Ontario Association of Architects. The annual awards program recognizes the best in architectural design by Ontario-based firms. The project, which has been lauded by Toronto Star architecture critic, Christopher Hume, and featured in AZURE, Healthcare Design and Metropolis magazines, is the largest healthcare facility of its kind in Canada dedicated to people living with complex chronic disease and disability. The project was one of 15 projects recognized with a Design Excellence award, selected from more than 170 submissions.

The design of the project was a collaborative undertaking. Stantec Architecture / KPMB Architects acted as Planning, Design and Compliance Architects and HDR Architecture / Diamond Schmitt Architects acted as architects to the Design, Build, Finance and Maintain consortium responsible for the design as constructed and the role of Architect of Record.
