Food Waste Recycling at "Boundless” Conference Sets Stage for Future Conferences

(December 2, 2014) - HDR's recycling efforts in conjunction with "Boundless", an international internal conference, held at Omaha's CenturyLink Center were featured in the Omaha World-Herald's Money Talks Blog. In three days HDR participants produced 995 pounds of food waste, which "would have gone to the landfill but instead took a more environment-friendly detour to an organic composting site,' according to the article.

This is the first time the CenturyLink has collected food waste for organic composting. Kim Sosalla-Bahr, HDR's sustainable design project manager who was interviewed for the article, said this was a pilot project and HDR is considering collecting food waste at future conferences.
