HDR's Fassett Tapped to Lead WBG's Water Rights Strategic Program
(CHEYENNE, Wyo. - August 4, 2010) - Jeff Fassett has been named the new Water Rights Strategic Program lead in HDR's Water business group. The new program is part of HDR's Integrated Water Planning business class. Fassett, who is based in HDR's Cheyenne office, has been with the Water Resources and Fisheries program of HDR's Federal, Energy and Resource Management business group for the past four years. Prior to joining HDR, Fassett owned and operated Fassett Consulting following a 17-year career with the state of Wyoming, including 13 years as the state engineer, the governor-appointed director of the water rights/water resources agency of state government. Fassett is noted for his knowledge of water rights programs, policies and politics, and is recognized as an expert on western water law and the Colorado River Compact. He is a national speaker on water right procedures and issues. After leaving state government, Fassett was appointed in 2002 by President Bush to be the federal representative and chairman of the Red River Compact Commission that includes representatives of Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas and Louisiana.
