HDR Opens Office in Shanghai

(November, 29, 2011) - Further expanding HDR's global reach, the firm has opened a new office location in Shanghai, China. The office, located in the Chong Hing Finance Center in Shanghai's busy Huangpu District, will support HDR's design efforts throughout Asia.  According to Harold Nesland, HDR's director of Asia Pacific development, "having a Shanghai office will enable greater interaction with our clients and assure that all projects achieve HDR's high standard of design excellence."

HDR began its presence in China more than six years ago when the firm was hired to design Wuxi AppTec's pre-clinical toxicology facility in Suzhou, China.  Since then, HDR has designed more than 20 healthcare, corporate, and science and technology buildings throughout the country. Notable projects include the Roche Shanghai Headquarters and the FMC Asia Innovation Center in Shanghai; the Children's Hospital of Soochow University in Suzhou, Jiangsu; and the National Institute of Biological Sciences building, the China Resources Medical Group master plan, the Tongzhou Xinhua Hospital, and the Beijing International Medical Center in Beijing.

The Shanghai office expands HDR's office presence to more than 185 locations throughout China, Australia, the Middle East, the United States, Canada and Europe.
