HDR’s Kinzel Appointed to Committee of Transportation Research Board
(April 19, 2013) - Christopher Kinzel, P.E., a traffic and transportation planning section manager in HDR's Kansas City office, has been appointed to a three-year term as a member of the Committee on Highway Capacity and Quality of Service of the Transportation Research Board of the National Academies.
The Transportation Research Board is a division of the National Research Council, a private, nonprofit institution that provides expertise in science and technology to the government, the public, and the scientific and engineering communities. The NRC is jointly administered by the National Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Engineering, and the Institute of Medicine.
Kinzel is a registered professional engineer in three states. He has more than 21 years of industry experience that includes traffic engineering analysis, traffic forecasting, corridor studies, statewide transportation planning, transportation research, intersection operational analysis, roundabout analysis/planning/design, and parking studies. He serves on the team for the 2.2-mile, $102 million Kansas City streetcar line. HDR is the streetcar line designer.
