Stephen Peakes Joins HDR Architecture as Healthcare Principal in San Francisco
(May 7, 2012) - Stephen Peakes, AIA, LEED AP, has joined HDR Architecture as a healthcare principal in the San Francisco office. In this role, Stephen will work to develop new business strategies, maintain and establish client relationships, and lead thoughtful and strategic project pursuits throughout the San Francisco Bay area.
Stephen joins HDR with more than 10 years experience in the architecture field, most recently as an associate principal with TLCD Architecture in Santa Rosa. While at TLCD, he co-managed the firm's healthcare studio, performed business development and marketing duties, and held a variety of project team roles, including project designer, project manager and principal in charge. His project work spans the healthcare and education fields, including the Roseland Creek Elementary School, one of the North Bay Business Journal's "Top Projects" in 2012, and numerous projects for Kaiser Permanente.
Stephen's philosophy towards architecture originates from the classic role of the architect as master builder. For nearly a decade, he apprenticed in the tile & stone, cabinetry, carpentry and general construction trades to gather techniques and experience in the building industry, and later earned his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Oregon.
"Stephen has a comprehensive understanding of the building industry—from a design, construction and marketing perspective," said Todd Tierney, western region operations director at HDR. "He understands the changes taking place in the healthcare industry, and has the forward-thinking leadership required to help our clients adapt and prepare for the future. He's a great addition to our ever-growing San Francisco office."
