Amy Williams Joins HDR Architecture as Managing Principal of Los Angeles Office
(May 22, 2013) - Amy Williams, AIA, LEED AP, has joined HDR Architecture as the managing principal of its Los Angeles office. In this role, Amy will lead the operations and business development functions of the office and oversee the expansion of HDR's presence in the greater Los Angeles region.
Amy joins HDR with more than 16 years' experience in the design industry, most recently as the operations lead for the Los Angeles office of NBBJ. As the leader of the office, she was responsible for the financial success, client satisfaction, and overall quality of the practice. Amy's career at NBBJ spans more than 12 years and includes multiple roles, ranging from project manager and architectural designer to studio operations lead and principal-in-charge. She has worked with globally respected clients including worldwide technology companies and an international financial media firm, as well as local clients such as the Los Angeles Community College District and M+D Properties.

With expertise in interior design and architecture, Amy has designed and managed projects of nearly every building type, from corporate and commercial facilities to educational, civic and healthcare institutions. Her recent NBBJ projects include the Los Angeles Mission College Student Services building in Sylmar, CA; The Source, a mixed-use retail destination in Buena Park, CA; and the McKinstry Innovation Center in Seattle, WA. Her work has received recognition from numerous design organizations, including the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the International Interior Design Association (IIDA).
Amy holds a bachelor of architecture degree from Iowa State University. She is an active member of the AIA and the Southern California chapter of CoreNet.
