HDR Reaches 100 Envision-Credentialed Professionals Milestone
(June 25, 2013) - Six months earlier than planned, HDR has reached its goal of credentialing 100 of its infrastructure professionals in the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure Envision™ Sustainability Professional (ENV SP) credential program. HDR was the first engineering firm to commit to this goal, announced by ISI in February, 2013.
As part of its commitment, HDR's entire engineering management team and HDR, Inc. Chairman and CEO George A. Little have been credentialed in the program. HDR also submitted the first project for Envision verification, which is currently under review.
ENV SPs work with the ISI Envision™ rating system, which provides a basis to evaluate and rate the social, environmental, and economic benefits of all size and types of infrastructure such as water, power and transportation. "Each ENV SP works as an integral part of a project team with civil engineers, environmental engineers, infrastructure planners, construction managers, architects, transportation professionals, public policy leaders, public works professionals and other stakeholders to achieve the highest level of sustainability for their infrastructure projects," said ISI Executive Director, Bill Bertera.
Envision™ is the product of a joint collaboration between ISI, which was founded by three national engineering associations (ASCE, ACEC, APWA), and the Zofnass Program for Sustainable Infrastructure at Harvard University Graduate School of Design. Information on all of ISI and Envision™ can be found on the ISI website, www.sustainableinfrastructure.org.
