Vidlak Named Managing Principal of HDR Architecture in Omaha

(November 11, 2013) - Edward J. Vidlak, AIA, NCARB, has been named Vice President and Managing Principal at HDR Architecture in Omaha, NE. Vidlak's 25-year career of project leadership includes experience across a variety of market sectors and project types, including corporate commercial, financial/banking, cultural, sports and recreation, healthcare, educational, and federal work. After a partnership with his own architectural and design practice for five years, Vidlak served the last 12 years in senior leadership and business development positions for a global architecture firm.

Prior to joining HDR, Vidlak was a vice president for Leo A Daly, where he led the firm's higher education studio. More recently, Vidlak served as the firm's International Market Sector Principal, with primary focus in the Middle East, Turkey, and North Africa. Vidlak was also principal and co-owner of Clymer Vidlak Architects LLC.

A strong proponent of giving back to the profession, Vidlak is a Richard Upjohn Fellow, having served on the national board for the American Institute of Architects and as past-president for AIA Nebraska. During this time, he chaired the national AIA Gold Medal and AIA Firm of the Year awards. He is a graduate of the Omaha Chamber of Commerce Leadership Omaha program.

Vidlak holds both a Bachelor's of Science in Architectural Studies and Master of Architecture degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He completed both Harvard University's GSD Executive Education Program and the professional development program from the Advanced Management Institute for Architecture and Engineering.
