HDR Named Program Manager for Iowa's Largest Interstate System Improvements Program
(January 22, 2014) - HDR has been named the program manager/general engineering consultant for the Council Bluffs Interstate System Improvement Program by the Iowa Department of Transportation, District 4. This comprehensive interstate redesign, which will be delivered over the next eight to 10 years, will modernize the highway system and improve mobility and safety of approximately 18 miles of interstate. This program is the single largest project in the Iowa DOT's five-year Transportation Improvement Program.
HDR is developing a customized programmatic approach to help Iowa DOT effectively set priorities and allocate resources, capitalize on efficiencies, and identify and mitigate risks. Communicating with diverse stakeholders across multiple projects in real time is another key requirement to successfully delivering this high-value program.
HDR's services also will include project controls; engineering, including design oversight and coordination, preliminary design, and final design; construction management; public relations; right of way support; and risk analysis.
