HDR's Ching Named 2014 Hawaii Young Engineer of the Year
(Feb. 18, 2014) - Troy Ching, P.E., has been selected as the recipient of the 2014 Young Engineer/Early Career award by the Hawaii Council of Engineering Societies. He was nominated by the American Society of Civil Engineers Hawaii Section.
Ching, who is headquartered in HDR's Maui office, will be presented with this award Feb. 22 at the 2014 HCES Engineers Week banquet.
Currently in his seventh year with HDR, Ching has worked on numerous projects throughout Hawaii and the Pacific Region. He is responsible for the production of civil, site development, utility infrastructure design documents and utility studies.
Ching served as the design engineer and deputy project manager on several projects and is an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers where he currently serves as the organization's Hawaii section Maui committee chair and younger member forum website chair. He has also served terms as the YMF president, past president and in five other leadership positions.
