Alex Newman-Wise Joins HDR as Innovation Consultant

(March 14, 2014) - Alex Newman-Wise has joined HDR as Innovation Consultant. In this role, Newman-Wise will provide strategic innovation consulting to the firm's clients, helping them discover new ways of thinking and doing that can assist their organizations with leapfrogging the competition. Based in HDR's Los Angeles, CA, office, Newman-Wise will be integrated into many of HDR's design teams, ensuring that innovation and end-user needs remain at the forefront of projects and then working with designers to translate concepts into novel solutions.

Newman-Wise was previously Design Research and Strategy Associate for Point Forward in Redwood City, CA, where he helped develop innovation strategies for Fortune 500 clients as well as designed and executed ethnographic research in the U.S. and abroad. Newman-Wise is well-known for his ability to uncover needs and emotions, identify opportunity areas, and communicate compelling stories around products, experiences, and needs. He has worked alongside members of the HDR team since July 2012 on the Kaiser Permanente Reimagining Ambulatory Design project.

A graduate of Yale University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Architecture, Newman-Wise's background includes two years at Robert A.M. Stern Architects as a junior architect and as an editor and writer. He also has experience working in digital and design at media agency @Radical.Media
