HDR Welcomes Richard Smith

(June 19, 2014) - Richard Smith, a dynamic and recognized leader in the architectural industry has joined HDR as Science + Technology Principal working out of the Chicago office.  With almost 30 years of experience, Rich has focused on work for academic institutions and science + technology organizations. Rich is a frequent guest speaker and prolific author. This year, he will be speaking on the topic of "Emerging Scientific Environments for Education and Innovation" at the upcoming National AIA Convention in Chicago.

Rich has completed successful projects for a long and distinguished list of clients including Abbott Laboratories, Baylor College of Medicine, Fermilab National Laboratory, Loyola University, The Ohio State University, The University of Chicago, Northwestern University, The University of Minnesota, University of Missouri, University of Southern California, UCLA, Rush University Medical Center, and Northwestern Memorial Hospital. 

He is an active member in many professional organizations, including the Society of College and University Planning (SCUP), the American Institute of Architects Committee on Education (AIA), I2SL (formerly Labs 21), and Project Kaleidoscope (PKAL).
