HDR's Murdoch Gives Keynote Address at Australian Waste Symposium
(August 20, 2014) - Joe Murdoch, waste management sector lead, gave the keynote address at the recent National Energy from Waste Symposium held by the Waste Management Association of Australia.
His presentation, "Energy from Waste Resources in Integrated Waste Management," focused on the North American evolution of energy from waste since the 1960s and how that may translate to Australia. He also discussed integrated waste management trends in North America and showcased two waste management systems with highly integrated EFW processes.
Murdoch has more than 30 years of experience in solid waste management and has been with HDR for 28 years. He's completed development, procurement and operations monitoring of solid waste facilities and operators for communities across the North America.
He is currently an active member of the U.S. Conference of Mayors Municipal Waste Management Association, the Waste-to-Energy Research and Technology Council, and the Waste to Energy Technical Division of the Solid Waste Association of North America. He is also a member of the SWANA International Board of Directors.
