HDR’s Architecture Practice Adds Beth Zacherle to Strategic Innovation Group

(March 11, 2016) - As we work to help our clients remain relevant in an ever-changing industry, HDR has added Beth Zacherle, R.A., LEED AP, to the Strategic Innovation Group in our Chicago office.

Beth's human-centered design philosophy, along with her 10 years of expertise as a licensed architect, will help our clients develop innovative solutions, especially as it relates to spatial experiences. As a strategic innovation designer, she will use her problem-solving skills to identify our clients' needs and then explore, develop and implement new design strategies.

"Beth's ability to translate complex ideas into a built form is remarkable," says David Grandy, director of strategic innovation. "As an innovation strategist, she brings a deep understanding of how the physical environment and an intentionally designed user experience should intersect. Her experience helping global organizations both imagine and bring a vision for the future to life will be invaluable in our expanding strategic innovation practice."

Before joining HDR, Beth worked at award-winning, internationally-recognized firms such as Studio Gang Architects leading projects for the University of Chicago, Chicago's Lincoln Park Zoo and SOS Children's Village Chicago.

Through her past experiences, she has become a collaborative leader, creative problem-solver and effective communicator with an aptitude for storytelling. She is passionate about enriching lives and communities with meaningful experiences built from user insights and actionable strategies, she says.

Beth received her Bachelor of Architecture from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University later followed by her Masters of Product Design and Development Management at Northwestern University.
