Robert Allen to Present at ENR Multi-Discipline Design Technology Webinar

(May 23, 2016) - HDR's Robert Allen is a panelist for Engineering News-Record's upcoming free webinar, "Multi-Discipline Design: Reducing Risks, Improving Collaboration and Winning Projects," on Thursday, June 9 at 2 p.m. EDT. He will share lessons learned as Design Production Manager for the New NY Bridge.

Allen is HDR's New York/New Jersey Highway/Bridge department leader, and an associate vice president. He has more than 15 years of experience in design and construction project management across several infrastructure mega-projects throughout North America. In 2014, Allen was named one of Engineering News-Record's, New York Top 20 under 40 in the industry.

While serving as design production manager for the New NY Bridge project (the replacement of the Tappan Zee Bridge), Allen was responsible for delivering more than 7,000 design drawings in just 18 months for the bridge's design. He and the design team took BIM to new levels — creating an entirely new tool we call Integrated BIM Asset Manager, or IBAM. Its unique combination of game engine technology and 3-D modeling helped improve collaboration and enabled faster, more accurate and more efficient planning and construction. This powerful, responsive, user-friendly 3-D graphical format can also help improve long-term asset management.

You can register to attend the June 9 webinar, or view it on demand. In addition to hearing examples of how technology can help improve projects, architects can earn one AIA LU credit.
