Julianne Scherer Joins HDR as Denver Managing Principal
HDR welcomes Julianne Scherer as the Managing Principal of the Denver architecture studio. Julianne is passionate about community-driven projects and the impact of design on communities. She derives daily enjoyment from new experiences, encouraging the best in others and creating a vision for the greater good.
In her role, Julianne will be an outward-facing leader responsible for developing new business and increasing the presence of HDR in the greater Denver region. A steward of design excellence, she is excited to join HDR because of the depth of talent, knowledge and resources present in the firm.
"I believe that design excellence, integrity and relationship-building result in the best strategies, innovations and successes as they relate to projects, clients — and HDR," she says.
Julianne has 22 years of experience on projects ranging from K-12 independent schools to public libraries and universities. Her achievements include a 2009 AIA Illinois John Wellborn Root Award for impressive service and dedication to the profession; a 2010 ENR Midwest magazine's "Top 40 Under 40" award; and a 2015 46th Ward Good Neighbor Award.
"Julianne's passion for and commitment to quality in her work is a great asset to our Denver studio—and the entire company," says Ed Vidlak, Central Region Director of Operations. "Her focus on building strong relationships lends itself well to what we have already established in Denver, with so much more to come. We're excited to see the possibilities."
