Safety

HDR is committed to providing the highest level of health and safety support for our staff. This support is critical to our core mission of performing all services in a manner that is both safe and in compliance with all applicable regulatory and client requirements.

Our projects take us across the globe into a wide array of environmental conditions, from deserts to arctic tundra, high seas to wetlands. No matter where we are or what services we provide, we strive to make sure that our culture of safe behavior is transmitted to every employee. Our expectation is that each employee act safely at all times; they are fully supported in this effort by HDR management.

Our safety and health program and training courses are the most comprehensive in the A/E/C industry and have been recognized at the national and local level. Our program and trainings are managed by a team of nine full-time health and safety professionals holding the following registrations:

  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (3)
  • Certified Safety Professional (3)
  • Certified Construction Health & Safety Technician (1)
  • Construction Health and Safety Specialist (1)
  • Professional Engineer (2)

Our health and safety program was recognized by OSHA in 2001, when HDR was admitted into the prestigious Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) for Mobile Workforces. We have also consistently won awards for our safety program's performance in preventing employee injury.
