Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How can I apply for a position at HDR?
A: The quickest way to apply for a position at HDR is to search our current open positions. Once you find a position, click on the "Title" to view the job description and qualifications, then click on "Apply On-Line" where you will be able to submit your resume.
Q: What is the advantage of creating a profile?
A: Your resume is included in our database, which our recruiters search periodically when positions become available. Also, you can be notified when the opportunities you are interested in become available.
Q: Do you recommend I use a particular browser to search jobs and submit an application?
A: Please use Internet Explorer 5.5-7 or Netscape 6 or greater. We cannot guarantee results or performance with any other browser.
Q: Can I apply for multiple jobs at the same time?
A: You can only select one position at a time, but once you have created a profile/resume in our system, you can apply for other openings by searching for job opportunities and clicking on the "Apply On-Line" link within the job posting, then click on the "Click here to login if you have already created a profile" link at the top of the page and your resume/profile will appear on the screen and you can just update information as needed.
Q: Can I submit a copy of my formatted resume, cover letter or other attachments when I apply online? If so what size and how many can I attach?
A: On the second page of our submit resume process you will be given the opportunity to attach a file to your profile. To include more than one attachment you will need to click on the Update Resume tab once you have completed the application process. There will be a paperclip icon under the resume text box or you may hit the Next button to be taken to the Upload documents page. You can attach up to 3 attachments with each having a maximum size of 4 MB each.
Q: If I apply online do I need to fax and/or mail a copy of my resume to the office where I am interested in working?
A: No, if you apply online your information will immediately go to the appropriate Recruiter to be reviewed. All faxed or mailed in resumes are sent offsite to be scanned and it typically takes an additional 3-4 days to get to the Recruiter.
Q: Can I email my resume to someone instead of applying through HDR's website?
A: No, the preferred method is to apply online, as it is the quickest way for us to review your resume.
Q: I am not interested in the current career opportunities. Can I apply for future openings?
A: Yes, you are able to Submit Your Resume for future openings without choosing a particular position.
Q: When I am submitting my resume online I am getting an error that a duplicate record exists. What causes this message?
A: This error is caused when you already have a profile in HDR's system or you did not include your home phone number in the form. If you don't have a home phone please enter your cell phone number in both the home phone and cell phone field. If you did include your home phone and still receive this error message: at the top of the Submit Resume page there is a link above the resume text box to 'Click here to login if you have already created a profile.' From here you can login or if you don't remember your password you can click on the "Can't remember your password? Click here" option and enter your email address. Your password will be emailed to you. If you don't receive your password within 4 hours call 800-366-2701 and we will help get it reset for you.
Q: I forgot my password. How can I get my password?
A: On each page that you can login to our system, there is a "Can't remember your password? Click here." option. If you click on "Click Here" you will be able to enter your email address and your password will be emailed to you.
Q: When I am submitting my resume online, I am getting a message that I am missing information and I can't get past the first screen of information.
A: This error is caused when you have skipped a required field. If a field has an * by it, this means that it is required and you must enter information in the field. Please note that you will need to reenter your password and confirm password field as they are deleted for security reasons if you skipped a required field.
Q: When I am submitting my resume online, the first page continues to refresh when I try to hit Next while having no error message or saying Validation Error.
A: This error is caused when the salary field is filled out incorrectly. The salary field can only accept numbers. If you have a dollar sign, letters, or a range of numbers it will create an error on the page. When you fill out the salary field make sure it only contains numbers or you may leave it blank.
Q: How can I check the status of my application/resume?
A: Login with your email address and password on the Application Status page.
Q: I have recently moved, how can I change my phone number and address?
A: Login with your email address and password on the Update Resume page. You will be able to update your contact information, as well as attach an updated copy of your resume.
Q: I applied for a position at HDR through another website. How can I be sure you received my information?
A: The information you provided through that Web site is channeled directly to HDR, so it is treated the same way it would be if you applied through HDR's website. If you click on Application Status you will see all of the positions you applied for that are current opportunities, including the positions you applied for through other Web sites.
Q: My application status disappeared for a job I previously applied for, what does that mean?
A: The application status page only shows the status of current open positions. If the position is filled or put on hold, your status will disappear since it is no longer a current open position.
Q: I am still experiencing difficulties while trying to apply online. Is there someone I can contact?
A: You may call us for assistance at 800-366-2701.
