Security & Intelligence
Security
We have served the Department of Homeland Security and it predecessor agencies for over 15 years. We have accomplished more that 300 task orders during that timeframe and have planned, programmed, and/or designed virtually every facility type that the department has in its inventory. We enjoy an A/E Indefinite Delivery Contract for all of the Department of Homeland Security through the Fort Worth Corps of Engineers and a separate A/E Indefinite Delivery Contract with the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center. Additionally, we have designed Border Patrol Sectors and Stations on both the northern and southern borders; designed detention facilities throughout the country; designed some of DHS' major offices, service centers, and headquarters facilities; planned and designed Secure Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIF) for three separate agencies and Intelligence Centers for the Border patrol; designed training facilities at two major training campuses; developed the technical standards for international airports and seaports; and planned and programmed the construction of border barriers on both borders. We are the most experienced A/E firm in every facet of the Department of Homeland Security's real property infrastructure. We established that level experience with the predecessor agencies and maintained it through the transition to the Department of Homeland Security.
Intelligence
We have a unique experience with national operations centers, mission critical facilities, and planning large, complex facilities. We have planned and designed major operations centers for various agencies of the intelligence community. As an integrated A/E practice with security clearances, we are experienced in the full range of needs from SCIF to blast protection, to chemical, biological and radiological (CBR) protection and large, protected and redundant power supplies for mission critical facilities. We have over 25 million square feet of programming, planning and design experience for large, complex federal agencies.
Our multiple projects at the Pentagon include the Remote Delivery Facility, the National Military Command Center and the renovation of Wedge 2. This group of highly complex projects in a very secure environment required extensive planning as well as complete architectural and engineering services, within a historic building. Their design of the below-grade command centers includes single and multi-room SCIFs as well as multiple audio/visual briefing theaters and conference rooms, responding to the unique security requirements of each agency. The design for the Pentagon Remote Delivery Facility is a secure, blast-resistant building that takes advantage of the natural grade and uses landscaping to minimize the visual impact on the historic views of and from the Pentagon (which was critical in receiving approvals from the NCPC and the CFA).
Besides the $200 million National Military Command Center, we were entrusted to design command centers and their support spaces for the Army (AOC), and the Navy / Marine Operations Center (NOC/MOC). These highly complex spaces required extensive planning and sophisticated engineering with complex foundation design. All of the command centers incorporate AT/FP measures including chemical, biological and radiological (CBR) protection.
