Utility Design & Coordination
The ability to provide a sound utility infrastructure to a proposed development is of vital importance to the owner and the economic growth of a community. To implement such an undertaking requires the developer's engineer to assess whether utility improvements are sized specifically for the project being developed and/or if those improvements will be oversized for public benefit and extend beyond the project onto public right-of-way.
We offer a thorough understanding of utility design and coordination, including sanitary, potable water, electrical/cable and solid waste lines. We work directly with utility representatives to verify the size, type and location of existing utilities. We will research record drawings, site surveys, or sub-surface utility excavation and conduct a title search of the property to identify all pre-existing easements or encumbrances on the property and/or "franchise agreements" on the site. This research may uncover issues that could present a risk or concern to the developer, or neighboring community. We use an iterative and integrated strategy to coordinate with the developer and appropriate utility providers, beginning early in the development process and carrying it through to final design and construction.
