Traffic Operations Design & Simulation
One of the most significant engineering challenges facing local, city and state agencies today is managing increased traffic congestion on our streets, highways and interstates with limited resources for capital improvements. As a result of these congestion levels, private developers are challenged to obtain traffic approvals on new projects from governments without some form of acceptable mitigation. To determine the most appropriate mitigation solutions, our professionals use state-of-the-art analysis tools that can simulate both existing and future traffic scenarios. From this analysis, we work with the developer and recommend and negotiate design solutions to mitigate adverse impacts.
We use the most innovative tools in micro-simulation and macroscopic modeling to evaluate existing and future congestion on a facility. Our 3-D animation capabilities allow us to communicate highly technical traffic operations issues in a nontechnical way to review agencies. Our traffic engineers collaborate closely with civil, highway and structural engineers, as well as with planners, to develop design-sensitive solutions that are acceptable to government review agencies and cost-effective to our developer clients.
