Effectively managing one of the most precious resources on the planet is the constant goal for the professionals in our water group. Managing this finite asset involves a range of practices, from protecting water sources to establishing a regular routine of maintenance procedures for pipelines, meters and other water system equipment to reclaiming seawater for irrigation.

We provide our clients a team of nationally-recognized water experts with experience in all aspects of water management, including filtration, advanced treatment, research and piloting, regulatory compliance, security/threat protection, management consulting, master planning/computer modeling, storage, pipelines, pumping stations, operations and maintenance, asset management, and corrosion control. In the area of regulatory compliance, for example, our clients receive direct benefits from HDR's work with the American Water Works Association and the Environmental Protection Agency to understand Federal Safe Drinking Water Act requirements.

And as a leader in drinking water treatment, we have planned and designed water treatment facilities throughout the United States. Our water professionals develop innovative, reliable and cost-effective solutions to complex water quality problems.

Just as important as our engineering capabilities is our understanding that water system managers today face challenges that go beyond the technical. We recognize that educating the community, building public consensus, obtaining the necessary environmental permits and navigating the regulatory and political landscape are every bit as essential as designing an efficient water treatment and delivery system.

We are a member of the Water Design-Build Council.
