321 Kent Street
321 Kent Street involved the rethinking of a predominantly single-tenant building into a modern multi-tenant address. The client sought a new office address, a rejuvenated lobby space and entry experience, and the repositioning of this office complex located in the western corridor of the city.
The building adjoins a neighboring office building, and both share a large-glass covered forecourt leading to Kent Street. Being that the existing lobby, located at the rear of the public covered court, did not relate well to the street, the redesign sought to provide a singular glass icon to formalize the address and highlight it to the street. This address took the form of a glass cubic structure that became a main feature in the forecourt and a meeting space in the lobby. The design then sought to recreate the interior landscape of the lobby by upgrading to contemporary finishes and amenities and addressing wind conditions in the forecourt in order to make the ground floor spaces more amenable to activities.
