Carnegie Fabrics Showroom, NEOCON 2016
Carnegie retained us to design showroom presentations supporting their product development and marketing initiatives. Introduced at NeoCon 2016 in Chicago, the showroom will be used throughout the year and highlights and celebrates Carnegie's dedication to exploration, research and material innovation.
Each year, Carnegie explores new ways to showcase an array of evolved design thinking, processes and materials that illustrate how the textiles and other materials can function and perform and be applied in unexpected ways.
Working in partnership with the Carnegie Creative, we developed aspirational ways to apply their materials, incorporating them into custom designed furniture, lighting, walls, acoustics and window coverings. Using both literal and abstract presentations, the products are designed to be the focal point within the space.
Each area of the showroom is broken down into zones of engagement, providing a visual of the products and their applications, from entry pathway through the subsequent bay areas. In each, the team staged product in both the custom showcases and within the greater environment. This results in overlapping views purposely designed to create a connection between the other ideas and product displays throughout the space. The showroom offers visitors a rich, integrated installation with a complexity of ideas.
We collaborated with Carnegie on interior architecture and design, custom color strategies, seating and lighting, graphics (including a logo and informational graphics) and product display systems.
Founded in 1950, Carnegie designs and manufactures a broad range of innovative textile and wall covering solutions for the global interiors marketplace. Carnegie's commitment to quality and innovation is inseparable from its commitment to sustainability. The research and development of sustainable textiles is one of our major business principles, which led them to become the first PVC free textile and wallcovering company.
