Digital Dallas Master Plan
Located in North Dallas' "Telecom Corridor," this campus is the site of one of Digital Realty's "datacampuses"; a science park with the telecommunications infrastructure and electrical capacity necessary for housing multiple data centers on site.
The master plan incorporates the 70-acre urban site's existing, vacant buildings while planning for new growth in the future, resulting in this 12-building plan. Included are considerations for vehicular circulation and access, security planning, site lighting, and—most importantly for a data campus—electrical planning for conduits and telecommunications, including a redundant dual-feed substation and underground power distribution.
As part of the master plan, HDR is also responsible for the architectural direction of all future construction on the entire property, ensuring as new construction is necessary, the campus will retain cohesion and a sense of place. The newest data center, at 850 East Collins Boulevard, is designed to include 18,000 square-feet of office space and six Turn Key Data Centers.
