We prepared site plans for approximately 1,000 acres of property at Hacienda Pinilla, a 5,000-acre resort in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. The site design provided 216 lots, constituting a gross density of 1.8 per acre and a net density of 2.2 per acre. An on-site charrette helped to guide the design.
We also prepared hotel and lodge site plans as marketing tools to solicit Radisson Hotels & Resorts and Marriott International, Inc. to the project. The hotel plan includes parcels for 75 to 150 rooms and 350 to 500 rooms, each with beach club amenities, and a parcel for 77 lodge sites on the Icacal estuary preserve. Multiple hotel unit configurations are clustered around pool amenities and oriented for optimal Pacific Coast views. The southeasterly portion of the plan sites lodges around the Icacal estuary with boardwalk/pathway pedestrian connections to the ocean.
We designed a beach club as a focal amenity for a 36-building condominium project. The beach club takes advantage of spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean while providing a fresh water pool cascading from an upper swimming to lower swimming area, amid a split-level patio configuration. Multiple cabanas provide restrooms, towels, refreshments and light meals. A bridle path allows pedestrian and horseback access to the beach club.
