An Engaging Public Process Results in a Vibrant Facility

The Richmond City Centre Community Centre is a vibrant two-story facility located within a mixed-use development. The community center offers modern, multi-purpose spaces for a range of community recreation programs and services tailored to residents of all ages.

The project began with an extensive public engagement process (with over 50 stakeholder groups) to determine residents' needs. The process helped to initiate important changes that had been recommended in the original feasibility study, including adding a fitness center, removing a black box theatre and combining areas into a flexible community living room space.

The Centre includes these components:

• Community living and kitchen space
• Preschool
• Two music studios and an arts studio
• Multipurpose and meeting rooms
• Flexible lobby space, lower and upper floors
• Reception area and staff offices
