The University of Ottawa Skills & Simulation Center
The University of Ottawa Skills and Simulation Center is a partnership of The Ottawa Hospital and the University of Ottawa. It is the largest simulation center in Canada and one of the largest in North America.
The center houses four state-of-the-art high-fidelity simulation rooms, including two operating rooms, one intensive care room and one labor and delivery suite/emergency room. The rooms are built to clinical standards to ensure life-like experiences, and everything a trainee would find in a clinical setting is available during simulations. Each room is equipped with audio/visual equipment to capture and allow playback for debriefing purposes.
The center also includes surgical skills rooms and six clinical exam rooms used for Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), team training and standardized patient encounters.
