Young Design Talent Recognized at Denver Awards Gala

Congratulations to Paul Mitchell, Gavin Sharp and Joel Savage for receiving five awards at the 16th Annual Young Architects Awards Gala in Denver. Held May 29th, eight awards and seven honorable mentions, as well as nine "online" people's choice awards, were presented to emerging architects and designers throughout Colorado at the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Colorado Chapter event.

HDR’s Denver team took home both a juried honorable mention and four online awards. The juried awards were selected from entries submitted by firms, designers, students and young architects (licensed for 10 years or less) from across the state. The entries were then judged by a jury of architects and community leaders.

HDR was a Silver sponsor of the awards gala, which was emceed by Meaghan Mooney of Fox 31 Denver (KDVR) and Colorado’s Own Channel 2 (KWGN).

The Denver office, and particularly this team of young talent, works on projects in the Front Range and into Wyoming across HDR’s civic, healthcare, science + technology and higher education business groups. While we are thrilled that these projects have been recognized and celebrated by these awards, we also had numerous other submissions from our studio that exemplify the level of creativity and innovation that we practice at HDR. Look for a lot more to come from these emerging young professionals as they continue to create spaces that make Denver a better place to live.
