HDR's Larson Receives Women with Hydro Vision Award

Lisa Larson, an associate vice president and international power sector lead at HDR, was one of ten women honoured recently at the HydroVision International Conference with the Women in Hydro Vision Award. The award recognises ten women who have made and/or are continuing to make significant contributions to the hydro industry by sharing their unique talents and vision to improve and advance hydropower in ten categories. Larson was recognised in the engineering consulting category as a leader among her peers in the industry.

Larson, who is based in HDR’s Seattle office, has been an integral member of the hydropower industry for more than 20 years. She’s managed many complex projects, and authored research papers based on her specialised knowledge in hydraulic design and modelling. She’s served on the HydroVision Steering Committee and in multiple officer positions for the Northwest Hydroelectric Association Board as well as holding positions on the advisory board for the HydroResearch Foundation and advising the Women in Hydropower Professional Group.

She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering, both from Oregon State University, and is a Wharton Executive Education Aresty Scholar.
