Group President, Transportation
With more than three decades of transportation planning and engineering experience, Brent Felker leads our Engineering and News-Record No. 6 Transportation program as group president. He is dedicated to helping our clients achieve their vision of delivering resilient infrastructure that builds strong communities and improves quality of life. An advocate of leadership and professional development, Brent empowers our technical experts and teams to embrace the future of transportation and its potential to add value and efficiency to the infrastructure development process.
At HDR, Brent has held several transportation and operational roles, serving as global operations director prior to becoming our transportation group president in January 2018. His project work has included industry benchmarks and award-winners such as the SR 520 floating bridge across Lake Washington; the Oregon Bridge Delivery Program; Legacy Parkway near Salt Lake City; the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge and Interstate 5 through Orange County.
Brent’s public sector experience includes 20 years at the California Department of Transportation. He held the roles of chief engineer and deputy director for project delivery. Brent also served as program director for the California High Speed Rail Program. Both experiences helped shape his understanding of the challenges of managing and providing safe transportation systems and the opportunities to work collaboratively to achieve new levels of success.
