HDR’s Dam Inspection Program Highlighted in Municipal Water Leader

Dam safety is a serious issue facing dam owners throughout the country. The spillway damage to California’s Oroville Dam in February 2017 brought this issue to the forefront and put the spotlight on dam maintenance and inspection practices across the United States. We were onsite within hours accessing the damage, developing ideas to stop further damage and looking for ways to prevent these types of incidents in the future.

In this interview with Municipal Water Leader, "Learning From Oroville: HDR’s Dam Inspection Program," Sam Planck and Kenny Dosanjh talk about how we were able to help the California Department of Water Resources respond to this emergency and, in the process, create new methods and practices for dam and spillway inspection nationwide.
