Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) Fact Sheets

We assisted AWWA in creating a series of fact sheets that summarize available information on PFAS, or per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances. PFASs are a large group of environmentally persistent, man-made chemicals used in industrial and commercial household products. Over 600 PFASs compounds are approved for use in the United States. Due to their stability and prevalence, PFASs have received attention as an emerging contaminant of concern in the environment and finished drinking water.
