Expedited Purified Water Program Management

In the fourth year of an exceptional drought, Santa Clara County’s groundwater levels were falling, increasing the area’s risk of land subsidence and infrastructure damage. Facing imported water cutbacks and limited local water, the Santa Clara Valley Water District decided to accelerate plans to implement up to a $1 billion Potable Reuse Program. The Program could potentially provide up to 45,000 acre-feet per year of purified water for indirect and/or direct potable reuse.

Building on a recently completed analysis that identified several potential projects, HDR, as program manager, has been helping the District evaluate these projects, identify and manage risks, determine the appropriate capacity and implement a smart solution.
