Richard Isleib, P.E.

Rich’s 30-plus years of environmental engineering experience focuses on the mathematical modeling of eutrophication and bacteria in surface waters. He specializes in hydrodynamic and water quality modeling and provides training on the use of these models. 

Two of his notable projects in this field are the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority Deer Island Wastewater Treatment Plant outfall relocation and nitrogen removal upgrades at New York City’s 26th Ward and Jamaica WWTPs. In both cases, the water quality responded as predicted and the waters of Boston Harbor and Jamaica Bay are cleaner as a result.

Rich advocates for the proper application of models and presents his work at professional conferences, such as the New York and New Jersey Water Environment Association’s annual meetings; the Water Environment Federation’s Technical Expo & Conference and specialty Total Maximum Daily Load conferences; and American Society of Civil Engineers' Watershed Management Conference. He is our New York Area Champion for the Coastal and Estuarine Research Federation and has presented at their biennial conference.
