James McConnell, AIA, OAA, LEED AP BD+C
Director of Infrastructure + Transportation Architecture
Jim wears many hats, spanning simultaneous leadership roles as an architect, business manager and project manager. He works with clients to solve their infrastructure needs and develops talent internally. He also leads our Hawaii architecture program. Meanwhile he serves in project leadership roles across the company for projects that combine transportation engineering and architecture.
What drives him more than anything is developing unique solutions for our clients to very complex problems—ultimately producing remarkable public spaces, buildings and experiences that are safe, sustainable and that meet our clients’ requirements.
One of his most notable experiences took place during a decade of work on New York’s award-winning Fulton Center Station, which involved rebuilding transportation infrastructure in post-9/11 Manhattan.
