“People often think design is an aesthetic. Rather, it is the constant willingness to see things differently — to listen and solve real problems in a more creative way.”

Many years ago, Jim traded in his college football uniform for an architectural degree, but his athlete’s mentality continues to inform his work — as evidenced by his collaborative spirit, his continual push for improvement, and his natural ability to rally and lead. In 2014, he earned a prestigious Young Architect Award from the AIA in recognition of his work helping to shape the future of the buildings and spaces he designs that often touch people when they are most vulnerable. His compassion is apparent in his extensive portfolio, representing nearly 20 years of architectural experience, including numerous large-scale, complex projects. All of Jim’s work reflects his commitment to creating a physical environment that enriches lives and promotes the humanistic principles he so strongly values.

Jim’s responsibilities stretch beyond specific projects; he is also involved in strategy and business development. His creative, genuine voice and compelling stories drive inspiration, as does his involvement in the company’s mentorship program — a duty he takes very seriously.

Jim is dedicated to the local AIA Dallas chapter and has ongoing involvement with several levels of leadership. He was named one of the top “40 Under 40” professionals by Building Design & Construction and one of “20 under 40” leaders in Texas and Louisiana by Engineering News-Record.
