Dresden-Friedrichstadt Hospital, Building C

Dresden-Friedrichstadt Hospital, Building C
A Modern Addition to Historic German Hospital
Since its opening in 1849, the Desden-Friedrichstadt Hospital has undergone a number of expansions resulting in a unique blend of historic and modern architecture. Building C, which acts as the hospital’s new central building, connects to the overall historic site without appearing like an obtrusive new building. It houses the hospital’s emergency department, pharmacy, examination and treatment areas, medical admissions, and intensive care wards.
Key features of Building C include:
- A helipad on the roof provides an efficient connection to the emergency department and operating rooms.
- The new sterilization department and the pharmacy are centralized in an effort to minimize walking distances.
- The interiors of the building are spacious and designed to exude warmth through modern finishes and a vibrant colour palette.
