The Future of Density
What can our urban world look like as we step in to our new normal?
The current pandemic will drastically shape how we need to approach the city of the future. Connected, self-contained communities are proving to be more successful in the pandemic as they have throughout history because they're more resilient to economic and epidemic change. Even once we are safely out of the COVID woods, so to speak, our health and resiliency challenges will remain and, potentially, increase.
Integrating the tenets of connectivity, equity, and mental and physical health in our community planning and design is something to start thinking about in every decision made as practitioners, members of the public sector, or as citizens. It's time to prepare our cities for the challenges of the future by making them stronger, healthier, and more resilient. But what does this look like?
