In April 2015, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency published the final rule for the regulation and management of coal combustion residuals for Electric Utilities. The rule regulates the safe disposal of coal ash, or CCRs, from coal-fired power plants, so many companies looked at the ruling from a solid waste perspective.
