HDR Partners with BioCycle REFOR15 for Organics Recycling
HDR partnered with the American Biogas Council and Black Earth Compost to collect and compost more than 500 pounds of food scraps and food-soiled paper at BioCycle REFOR15, the official conference of the American Biogas Council that was held recently in Boston.
The conference was held at the DoubleTree Boston North Shore and this was the first time the hotel had taken on organics diversion so the organizations worked closely with hotel staff. The experience was a success, according to Christopher Koehler, HDR’s solid waste manager. “Everyone involved was not only pleased with the ease of executing the composting program, but more importantly, proud to see the benefits that food waste composting can have on the environment and their community.”
The results are reported in BioCycle Magazine's November issue. It’s the second article, titled “Emmaus, Pennsylvania: Food Scraps Diversion At BioCycle REFOR15.”
