Lectures

Un-Packing Data-Driven Design

While there’s always been some level of data in the design process, it seems we’re overloaded with vast amounts of it and a proliferation of tools to analyze it. This session explores how a reliance on data may foster the illusion that we know everything. Gary unpacks the reality of how best to leverage data in the design process in well-founded, meaningful ways that help achieve positive human and financial impacts. 1 AIA LU | HSW

Healthcare + Branding

The design industry’s approach to healthcare spaces is, at its core, all about promoting health and wellness to the professionals, patients and families that journey through these environments. But what about thinking about the facility as the client’s branding tool — and the potential to market the spaces within it to reflect the type of care being delivered? If a well-branded experience can affect mood or behavior, then shouldn’t it be a central pillar of healthcare design? This session explores how healthcare spaces can be both a truly connected experience — as well as a celebrated branded one. 1 AIA LU | HSW

Gary is invigorated every day by the opportunity to share his knowledge through mentorship, articles, book and presentations, a handful of which are featured here.
