Creating Future Healthcare Solutions, Leveraging Data and Human Centered Design Approaches

Tuesday, September 12
10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Panel Presenter: Hank Adams, Global Director of Health

Designing a healthcare facility that provides a positive patient experience, while being fit for purpose is one of the largest challenges for architects worldwide. Traditional designs in this region have often failed to involve the main user groups from early enough in the building process, leading to inefficient and often dangerous outcomes.

This session will emphasize the importance of early partnerships between the architects, contractors, ministries and the end users to maximize efficiency. The benefits of engaging communities in the design process will be illustrated through successful regional and international case studies demonstrating how these partnerships have led to state of the art designs. The session will offer guidance on how to ensure facilities are designed with flexibility and efficiency high on the agenda to enable successful adaptation further down the line.

Key Topics

  • Designing for flexibility and efficiency in a facility
  • How to incorporate patient experience and wellness into design
  • Engaging communities to create world class facilities
  • Innovations in design
