High Tech Corridor Management Tools to Increase Project and Property Management Productivity
Large right of way delivery programs and asset management of company or agency land holdings can benefit from today’s GIS land systems. By providing coordinated tracking of critical interrelated services such as ROW, survey, cultural, environmental and design for new ROW delivery and effective mapping and cataloging of current ownership, approved secondary uses, encroachments, and maintenance activities for existing ROW corridors these systems increase productivity, delivery times, maintenance schedules and landowner relations while reducing risks to current and future corridor owners. This session will highlight GIS land systems used to improve the Sacramento Municipal Utility District’s asset management program and major ROW delivery programs for the Sites Reservoir, BPA Secondary Capacity Model Program, and Omaha Public Power District’s Power with Purpose program.

How IIJA Funding is Making Agencies Do More With Less
The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act provides over a trillion dollars for infrastructure investment across multiple sectors. This funding supports the repair or replacement of aging infrastructure as well as the construction of new infrastructure in new places. This presentation will cover the major investment areas of the IIJA and how the programs within the bill as well as recent federal guidance encourages the use of existing ROW to facilitate accelerated delivery and which programs will demand additional ROW analysis and acquisitions. We’ll also touch on the role of equity and environmental justice which is woven throughout the legislation and the Biden Administration’s implementation and how that affects land acquisition and restorative justice efforts through infrastructure.
- Eric Beightel, Principal Infrastructure Policy and Environmental Strategy
