Abby Scott Selected as Juror for NeoCon Awards
Abby Scott, IIDA, NCIDQ, LEED AP, senior interior designer in HDR’s Omaha architecture studio, was selected as one of 40 jurors for Contract Magazine’s iconic “Best of NeoCon Awards.” The jury comprised architects and designers, as well as corporate, education, healthcare and government facilities management executives responsible for selecting and buying furniture and furnishings for their clients or organizations.
The jury distributed 96 awards on June 12 in this year’s competition of contract furnishing products. Honors included Gold and Silver awards, as well as 10 Innovation awards, Editors' Choice awards and a Best of Competition Award. Winners were announced at the Best of NeoCon Awards breakfast, and were published in Contract Magazine’s July/August issue.
Each juror previewed award entries online, then visited NeoCon showrooms in teams at Chicago’s Merchandise Mart prior to the opening day of NeoCon.
“Design is transformative, and the spaces we design are only made more unique with the products that we discover in the showrooms at NeoCon,” Scott said. “Serving as a judge was truly a pivotal point in my career. The jury members’ unique perspectives and backgrounds made for a lively debate about products, concepts and innovation.”
The Best of NeoCon is sponsored by Contract Magazine, NeoCon, the International Interior Design Association, the International Facility Management Association and The McMorrow Reports for Facilities Design & Management.
