HDR's Abby Scott Returns as IIDA Great Plains Chapter Board Advisor

Abby Scott

The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) Great Plains Chapter has announced its incoming board of directors for the 2017-2018 membership year. The 15-member board of directors, elected by the chapter’s IIDA professional members and advisors to the board, started its term on July 1, 2017, and will serve through June 30, 2018.

Abby Scott, IIDA, NCIDQ, LEED AP, an IIDA member for 13 years and a senior designer in HDR’s Omaha architecture studio, has returned as an advisor to the board for the third year. Scott has a history of IIDA leadership and service. She was on the chapter’s board of directors for five years, which included serving as the 2012-2013 chapter president. She also represented the profession and the chapter on a national level as part of the IIDA’s 2015 Strategic Advisory Committee.

In her newly appointed role, Scott will provide perspective and knowledge, in addition to helping the board reach its goals. The board will benefit from her wide range of industry experience, professional accomplishments, leadership expertise and her knowledge and ongoing dedication to serving the profession through the IIDA and the Interior Design Coalition of Nebraska (IDCN).

The IIDA Great Plains Chapter is supported by the leadership of directors composed of a City Center Committee within each city center location (Des Moines, Eastern Iowa and Omaha). It’s also supported by faculty member liaisons and campus leaders for each of the chapter’s five campus centers, which include Kirkwood Community College, Iowa State University, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the University of Northern Iowa. The IIDA Great Plains Chapter serves all of Iowa and Nebraska, with a mission to elevate, advocate and celebrate the profession of interior design.
